Bring on the new dance makers!

Two of Australia’s hottest emerging choreographers. Seven dancers from the celebrated Expressions Dance Company. Two exciting, boisterous, insightful, edgy, vibrant new dance works.

Propel (the next step) is stage two in a series of platforms created by EDC to champion emerging, independent choreographers to develop ideas for dance productions with the full support of a professional company.

For stage one, Launch Pad, choreographers created a duet in a studio setting – stripped back and unadorned, with the audience experiencing the rawness of dance.

In Propel, emerging choreographers Liesel Zink (Brisbane) and Lucas Jervies (Melbourne) flourish, each creating a new, 30-min work for the entire EDC ensemble, bringing in elements of set, costume and stage design, and presenting it in a theatre environment.

Expressions Dance Company has received financial assistance from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, it’s arts funding and advisory body.
