What is a season ticket?
A season ticket is a plastic card which you can use to access Queensland Theatre Company plays throughout 2012, plus a whole range of additional benefits (see Season Ticket Holder Rewards). You can buy 3, 5 or 7 plays on a season ticket – the more you buy, the more you save. When purchasing a season ticket you have two options – book all your preferred performance dates and times in advance, or book into shows throughout the year when it’s convenient to you.
When is the deadline for season ticket orders?
A preferential booking period is available for renewing My Personal Seat and Opening Night Premium Package Season Ticket Holders until Friday 28 October 2011. After the preferential booking period closes, all Season Tickets are processed in order of receipt of booking, with priority seating closing when single tickets go on sale (Monday 30 January 2012). Season Tickets are on sale until 27 July 2012. You will receive your Season Ticket, benefits and information in the mail from late January 2012.
How do I redeem my tickets if I have not selected my dates?
If you decided to keep things flexible, and not book your dates in advance, to redeem your tickets simply contact us from Monday 30 January 2012, when single tickets go on sale, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm on 1800 355 528 or via sales@qldtheatreco.com.au. Our staff will confirm your performance dates and times, seating and whether your tickets will be mailed to you or left for collection at the theatre box office. We recommend booking your plays at least two weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note: Multiple passes to the same play are not permitted (e.g. a 5 Play package entitles you to attend 5 different plays).
How do I redeem my season ticket if I have selected my dates?
If you decide to lock in your dates and times when you buy your season ticket, just bring it with you to the theatre to claim your free program and gain admission to the theatre. If you decide to keep things flexible, your card will list instructions on how to book into shows closer to time, either online or by phoning our freecall number.
How do I receive my free program?
Simply show your Season Ticket to the program seller at the venue to get your complimentary program.
Who qualifies for a concession?
We make concession tickets available for full-time students, pensioners and people who hold a health care card, senior’s business discount card, companion card, or government issued seniors card. National Seniors members do not qualify for concession prices.
How can I sit with my other season ticket holder friends?
We will do our absolute best to seat you next to your friends, but if you want to sit together, you must book together. If using the booking form, please ensure you lodge your forms jointly and make mention of your desire to sit together in the “Seating Preferences” section on both forms.
Can I use my season ticket to see the same show several times?
No, sorry. You can only use your season ticket once for each production. For example, if you credit your season ticket with five plays, you must use it to see five different plays throughout 2012. You can’t use it to see multiple performances of the same play, or to admit guests. (You can however use your season card to buy tickets for guests at discounted prices, now or anytime throughout the year. See the “Additional Tickets” section on the booking form.)
What if I need to exchange a performance date once I’ve booked?
Only season ticket holders have the privilege of being able to change bookings once they’ve been made. If you can’t make a previously booked show you can change your booking to a different performance of the same play, but you must notify us at least 48 hours prior to your ticketed performance. If you plan all your dates in advance, you’ll need to present your season ticket to our office or the QTIX or Brisbane Powerhouse box office to make an exchange.
Print the Exchange Form, write in your details and post it in with your tickets to make the exchange process quicker to Queensland Theatre Company, PO Box 3310 South Brisbane BC QLD 4101.
Or you can present them at Queensland Theatre Company, 78 Montague Rd South Brisbane (9:30am-5:00pm Monday to Friday) or Main Box Office, QPAC, Cnr Melbourne and Grey Sts South Bank (9:00am – 8:30pm Monday-Saturday).
Are there fees involved with exchanging performances?
Opening Night and Weekend Package holders can make unlimited exchanges at no charge. Mid-Week and Off-Peak Package holders will be charged a $3.30 (incl GST) administration fee for each ticket exchange, plus the difference in the cost of the seat.
What if I miss a performance?
If you miss a booked performance or fail to get an exchange in on time, you can purchase tickets at a special price of $25 (subject to availability).
What if I lose my season ticket?
Paper tickets can be printed for you if you misplace your season ticket. Just email or call us.
What’s the policy on refunds?
We follow ticketing guidelines set down by Live Performance Australia, the peak body for the live entertainment industry. Just like single tickets, our season tickets are not refundable if you don’t like a show or simply change your mind. Season tickets can’t be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount, or promotion. To read the LPA ticketing code, go to www.liveperformance.com.au.
What’s the difference between a preview and other performances?
Previews are run before an audience prior to Opening Night. Actors may still be fine-tuning their performance, and on rare occasions the director may even interrupt the show to make technical or other adjustments. In almost all cases, the show will run through without any perceivable problems. Previews can give you a fascinating insight into the process of theatre making.
I have specific accessibility needs. What do I do?
We are committed to making our productions accessible to everyone, so please let us know about your needs when you call to book, or use the “Seating Preferences” section on our booking form. Wheelchair access and facilities are available at all theatres. Hearing enhancement systems are available for free in most venues, and we offer an audio description service at select performances for people who are blind or visually impaired.
How do I find out more about each show?
Play Briefings – Hear from actors, directors and other creatives about what goes on behind-the-scenes. There is no need to book. All play briefings are held at 6pm.
