Right to Information | Queensland Theatre

You can easily access information about Queensland Theatre because it is a statutory body of the Queensland Government. This includes information about our policies, codes of conduct, financial records, correspondence, registers and documents relating to some government decisions.

On 1 July 2009, the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) (PDF 883KB) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) (836KB) replaced the Freedom of Information Act 1992. Unless it’s not in the public interest, you can access documents about us through Right to Information (RTI) or Information Privacy (IP) requests.

Finding information about us

We can help you find information about Queensland Theatre, our services, finances, policies, registers and lists, as well as information released through RTI requests. You have several options:

Disclosure Log

Information released in response to non-personal RTI requests will be progressively published in a disclosure log which includes a description of information released and, where possible, a link to the relevant documents. Since the RTI Act came into effect on 1 July 2009, our disclosure log does not contain any requested information.

Publication Scheme

Some of the documents can be downloaded, however, some scanned items may not be readable by accessibility devices, such as screen readers. If you are having difficulty accessing information we will endeavour to meet all reasonable requests to provide the document in a suitable format.

    Mainstage season
    Each year the Company presents an annual mainstage season of plays showcasing an array of acclaimed theatre artists and offering a dynamic mix of plays from exciting new Australian work to outstanding international classics.

    Artist Development
    The company is also dedicated to encouraging artistic development across the state through its emerging artists program, writing program – which includes the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award – and regional partnerships program.

    Youth and Education Engagement
    Particular emphasis is placed on developing, inspiring and exciting young people by giving them opportunities to connect with the professional performing arts community in Queensland through specially devised education performances, young playwrights program, theatre residency week, in-school workshops, secondment programs and more.

    Ticketing
    Queensland Theatre manages its own Season Ticket and Subscription sales. Single ticket sales are through qtix.

    Media Releases
    Media releases are distributed for the majority of activity undertaken by the company.

  5. Our Decisions
    The company is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Governor in Council upon recommendation by the Premier and Minister for the Arts. Details about the Board members and their role can be found in the Annual Report. On a day to day basis the Company is managed by the Executive Director and Artistic Director who jointly report to the Board.

    Queensland Theatre is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information obtained from and stored about its customers. The way we manage your personal information is governed by Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (Act) and the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) established under the Act.
